What should I submit?
Anything that’s relevant to you, with no rules on the content, format, or size of the data displayed. It can be a visualization you published or presented some time ago, it can be your latest research, it can be a stand-alone data visualization project. Data can be anything - from quantitative: empirical logs of emails and co-authorship counts, to qualitative: steps in research design or comparative methodologies. You can show us the perspective of a single individual, or the behavior of millions, the strategies of one institution, or the paths to change of many different types of organizations. You can show the temporal dynamics of a phenomenon, or the structure of ideas that span across countries and disciplines. Whatever you find interesting for the social and behavioral sciences, we’ll find interesting as well.
In what format should I send my print visualization?
For printing purposes, we accept only vector files (PDF, EPS, SVG, AI, DXF), or images at 200 dpi or higher (at 1:1 scale). The visualizations will be printed on A1 paper size (841 x 594 mm). To check the quality of your image, zoom in at 300% in a PDF file and see if everything is still legible (i.e., not very pixeled).
When and where should I submit my visualization?
Between September 16 and November 2nd, sumbit your creation to [email protected]. In the e-mail, Please specify your First Name, Last Name, Institutitonal Affiliation, Title of the Visualization, a Graphic Legend, and a 250-word description of the contribution.
Can I print the visualization myself?
For conformity, we would prefer to print the visualizations ourselves.
Do I have to create the visualization alone, or can I collaborate with someone else?
We encourage both single-authored and collaborative work on designing the visualizations. Remember, the purpose of the exhibition is to open up and enhance the space for collaborative work.
Does it matter if the visualization was already published somewhere else?
Nope, as long as you are the author of it and credit everything accordingly.
How many visualizations can I submit?
As many as you want! We will upload all the submitted visualizations on our website (Check 'Gallery' section from Nov. 10 onward). Depending on how many contributions we receive this year, we will phisically display minimum one visualization per participant.
